Accountancy

As a limited company you will need to produce accounts on an annual basis in statutory format. The Inland Revenue require a copy, the Registrar of Companies require a copy (maybe in an abbreviated form) and all shareholders are entitled to a copy.

In addition you may want periodic management accounts, to help you keep a closer track on how your business is doing, which do not need to be in a specific format, but can be tailored to your own requirements.

If you employ a bookkeeper or have your own accounts team, we will work with them to help in the preparation of accounts, whether they be annual or management accounts. We will also help your team to get the best out of any system they operate.

Limited companies and their officers are subject to various pieces of legislation.  The most recent is the Companies Act 2006, which is the largest piece of legislation ever issued in this country.  It is to be introduced in stages and will be fully implemented by October 2008.  At Samwood & Co we can help to keep you informed on the various updates in legislation.
